We have some fantastic news and updates to share with you. The Friends of Grenoside Park have been working diligently to enhance our beloved park, and we’re thrilled to bring you up to speed on our progress.

Survey and Plans Update

In our last update, we mentioned that we were awaiting surveys and initial plans from the Park and Countryside team. We're excited to announce that these have now been completed! We are currently finalising the plans and will soon be moving to a public consultation phase.

Remember, these plans are not the final design, and some aspects may change. Our mission remains steadfast: to create an accessible, enjoyable playground and landscape for everyone. Our vision includes a pathway connecting three flat areas, each housing a variety of play equipment for all ages. Additionally, we aim to add more seating, shade-providing trees, and beautiful plantings within the playground area.

New Zip Wire Coming Soon!

We have some thrilling news for all the adventure seekers in our community! We have secured funding from the National Lottery Community Fund for a brand-new zip wire in the park. Construction is set to begin between August 12th and 15th. Please keep clear of the construction area during this time for your safety. Once complete, you’ll soon be able to experience the exhilaration of zipping through the air!

Ongoing Projects and Volunteer Efforts

We continue to address issues identified in our initial survey by collaborating with the Park and Countryside planning team. Our goal is to deliver a fantastic playground that meets the needs of all users.

Our dedicated volunteers have been hard at work, and we’ve made significant progress in painting the park fence within the playground grounds. We extend our heartfelt thanks to the various individuals who have contributed their time and effort.
