GRENOSIDE

christmas tree trail

FOGP is excited to announce the management of the Christmas Tree Trail in preparation for the upcoming festive season. With the aim of making the trail even more grand and exciting, with some great prizes for participants. We call upon you to be part of the Grenoside Christmas Tree Trail by decorating and theming your own Christmas tree outside your home or business.

This event is open to both families and businesses and will run throughout December, giving the public an opportunity to vote for their favourite tree from the 1st to the 22nd of December with the winning trees notified by the 29th December. We encourage Grenoside residents to join in the festivities and decorate their gardens with either a traditional Christmas tree or an existing tree or bush that can be festively decorated.

Let’s make this year’s Christmas Tree Trail the best one yet! Remember - wrap up warm, watch for traffic and enjoy the Christmas lights!

how to register a tree

To be in the running for the top prize in the residential tree category, simply complete the registration form which takes just a few minutes and is open to anyone within the S35 8 postcode. We're excited to offer some great prizes for the top three trees.

For those with business or organisation trees, register for the opportunity to proudly display the (NEW) Grenoside Christmas Tree winners trophy for a year, showing off your status as the best tree in town. Share your achievement with everyone by showcasing the trophy in a prominent location. Your tree needs to be displayed on your premises (if you have an S35 8 postcode) or outside St. Marks Church within the grounds.

Registration opens from 1st October - 31st October 2023. This gives us time to collate all the entries and produce our Christmas tree trail map.

how to vote for your favourite tree

To vote for your favourite tree please follow the link below and complete the online form. You can only vote once for your favourite tree and you must enter a valid email address to be able to vote. Voting this year is FREE and you can vote from the 1st to the 22nd of December with the winning trees notified by the 29th December.

launch weekend 1st december

Unfortunately, there won't be a Christmas Tree Festival this year at St. Marks Church on Main Street. However, you can still visit the church on Friday, December 1st for the launch of the trail. To get you in the holiday spirit, the Church will open its doors where there will be carols playing and hot drinks available. You can pick up trail maps and check out some business and organization trees on display in the church grounds. Don't miss out on this festive event!

To make the trail a success we need the help of all participants if possible to have all trees up and ready for the launch weekend of the 1st December.

results

The results will be revealed on 29th December, and email notifications will be sent out to the deserving winners. To make the event even more enjoyable, we encourage the participation of nearby pubs and cafes who might provide refreshments of any kind. We know some of us would like to be able to stop and warm up whilst walking the Christmas Tree Trail!
